Free Software Foundation: Cisco violates the GPL

The foundation led by the champion of free software Richard Stallman is willing to denounce Cisco Systems.

The FSF, with an official, said that Cisco Systems is violating the GPL and LGPL in some Linksys products, the company acquired in 2003 for 500 million dollars. In practice, the networking giant has used improperly packages such as GCC, binutils and the GNU C Library.

In this case, Cisco has denied to all its customers to share and modify the software underlying the following products: EFG120, EFG250, NAS200, SPA400, WAG300N, WAP4400N, WIP300, WMA11B, WRT54GL, WRV200, WRV54G and WVC54GC and Quick -VPN.
